Writing
At the moment I like to write short pieces that I or somebody else will actually turn into made things of some sort.

Wellcome's Magic Ink is something Wes White and I wrote commissioned by the Wellcome Trust for the online exhibits section of their website. We chose the lable of one of the first products that Henry Wellcome ever marketed - Wellcome's Magic Ink - as a starting point and then took turns to use other words from a list we were given as inspirations for new texts.
You can read what we wrote on the Wellcome Collection's website.

On The Impossibility Of Staying Alive is something Wes White and I wrote specially for Pipe and Slippers December 2006. We made a limited edition and sold them at the event and on our websites - they're sold out now, but Wes put it up on his Writers Cafe page so you can read it there.
The piece began when
I was working on a photography project, taking long exposures of me lighting matches in Peckham's dark corners, and the line, "They say there's a new moon in the sky," began turning over in my head. I thought it was the first line of a poem by Ian McMillan, but it isn't, I had misremembered; nevertheless, we've named the piece after his poem.
Some of the photographs that inspired the writing were used, along with others, to create the image on the cover. You can find some of those photos on the 2007 War Against Boredom page.

Sisters is a themed collection of words and images created and compiled by me and my sisters. We started it as a way of finding out where our brains overlap. We're still working on that question. If you would like to submit work to Sisters, please do, but be aware that all submissions, including yours, will be rejected on the grounds that you are not our sister. If you can provide documentary, photographic or DNA evidence that you are our sister then we will consider your submission.
Sisters'04 - Geography all gone.
Sisters'05 - Alphabet all gone.
Sisters'06 - Shoes is available to buy in the shop.
Sisters'07 - Fruit & Veg is available to buy in the shop.

Sing A Rainbow is a collection of seven stories all based on colours.
I've written them over quite a long period of time, in fact, two of them appeared in Goldfish, an anthology of writing from the Goldsmiths MA in Creative and Life Writing. Which I finished in 2002. What held me up in terms of getting the zine made was working out how to print and bind it, but now it's all worked out and I've cunningly stitch-bound and tabbed it on lovely bright paper and it's available to buy in the shop. It was launched at Pipe and Slippers July 2006.

If you would like to read writing that I have written for Attack!!!! - an occasional zine (a zine is a do-it-yourself magazine) with invited contributors that is edited and published by Wes White - you can find it on Wes's eCartilage website.
